Recently, a delegation of leaders from Shanghai Teqiang and Kobe Steel Trading Co., Ltd. paid an annual working visit to Xingtai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xingsteel"). Relevant personnel from the Sales Company, Technology Center and Wire Rod Plant gave them a warm reception. The customers visited the No. 5 Workshop of the High-grade Steel Workshop in the Wire Rod Plant and inspected the construction site of the new plant relocation project.
Xingsteel is a benchmark enterprise in China's special steel sector, particularly renowned for its outstanding automotive steel products. As early as between 2012 and 2017, the high-strength cold heading steel for automotive engine bolts developed by Xingsteel, with its high cleanliness, excellent cold heading property and uniform microstructure, enabled Xingsteel to become the first special steel wire rod enterprise in China to pass the certification of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Up to now, Xingsteel's products have obtained certifications from numerous mainstream domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers including Honda, General Motors, SAIC Motor, Ford, Geely and XPeng.
At Xingsteel's new plant in Weixian County, Ma Baoliang, Deputy General Manager of Xingsteel, warmly received the visiting guests and gave a detailed introduction to the construction progress of Xingsteel's 10-billion-yuan transformation and upgrading project at the new plant in Weixian County. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the green and low-carbon transformation of the steel industry, the collaborative development of high-end markets and future cooperation opportunities.
Xingsteel's new plant is a key construction project in Hebei Province, with a total investment of 13.2 billion yuan. It is currently the only industrial project in Xingtai City with an investment exceeding 10 billion yuan, and is hailed as the "No.1 Project" that Weixian County is fully committed to serving. The project adopts the internationally advanced green short-process technology of "hydrogen-rich smelting reduction + electric arc furnace", aiming to build a green, intelligent and high-end special steel "dream factory". Recently, the core production line of the project—the steel rolling large coil heating furnace—was successfully ignited, marking that this key production line has entered the hot commissioning phase, and is expected to be put into trial production by the end of December.
This visit by Shanghai Teqiang and other companies has not only consolidated the ties between the two sides, but also laid a solid foundation for further cooperation in the high-end manufacturing industrial chain in the future. With the completion and commissioning of Xingsteel's new base in Weixian County, a world-class specialized production base for special steel long products is emerging, which will continue to inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the regional economy and China's manufacturing industry.
