Xingsteel: Three Scientific and Technological Achievements Reach International Advanced Level

Recently, the Hebei Provincial Society for Metals organized an evaluation meeting for three scientific and technological achievements of Xingsteel. After appraisals by experts from institutions including the Central Iron and Steel Research Institute, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University and Soochow University, three projects—R&D and Industrialization of High-quality Bearing Steel Wire Products and Core TechnologiesDevelopment and Application of Key Production Technologies for High-quality Pure Iron Used in New Energy Vehicles and Development and Application of Key Process Technologies for High-purity and High-performance Die Casting Mold Steel—were all rated as reaching the international advanced level.
The meeting was chaired by Liu Yi, Secretary-General of the Hebei Provincial Society for Metals. Tian Xinzhong, Chief Engineer, Assistant to the Chairman and General Manager of Xingsteel, attended the meeting and expressed gratitude to the participating experts for their long-term support.
The three achievements passing the evaluation focus on the high-end niche fields of special steel wire rods, solving key technical problems in specific application scenarios.
The project R&D and Industrialization of High-quality Bearing Steel Wire Products and Core Technologies has improved the cleanliness, surface and internal quality of bearing steel by developing technologies for controlling large-size and large-particle calcium aluminate inclusions, carbide control technologies and wire rod surface decarburization prevention technologies.
The project Development and Application of Key Production Technologies for High-quality Pure Iron Used in New Energy Vehicles has developed technologies for controlling surface coarse grains of deep-drawing pure iron, as well as technologies for controlling ultra-low coercivity and surface cracks of electromagnetic pure iron, endowing the products with excellent drawing, cold heading and electromagnetic properties.
The project Development and Application of Key Process Technologies for High-purity and High-performance Die Casting Mold Steel has realized the control of high purification and dense homogenization of product structure through the optimized design of composition and processes, thereby improving product performance and service life.
According to statistics, the above three scientific and technological achievements have yielded 11 authorized invention patents, 43 related papers published, and participation in drafting and formulating 1 national standard and 1 industry standard. The successful R&D and application of the projects have not only created economic benefits, but also provided support for the enterprise's transformation and upgrading and the technological progress of downstream industries.
Looking ahead, Xingsteel stated that it will continue to adhere to the development strategy of high-quality special steel, focusing on technological innovation and quality improvement in the field of special steel wire rods.
